Quickbase Launches Form Builder to Help Field Teams Create Mobile Forms in Minutes

New FastField feature turns voice dictation, paper forms, PDFs, and written prompts into working mobile forms, giving field teams a faster, simpler, and more flexible way to put field data to work

BOSTON, Sept. 01, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Quickbase, the intelligent operations platform, today launched AI Form Builder, a new FastField feature designed to give field teams a faster, simpler way to create mobile forms. The new Form Builder adapts to how teams prefer to capture information in the field, from uploaded PDFs and photos of existing paper forms to voice-to-text and written prompts.

Field teams often rely on paper and clipboards to document inspections, repairs, site checks, and safety workflows – particularly on jobsites where rain, sun glare, or limited Wi-Fi connectivity can make digital forms difficult to use. AI Form Builder gives teams a fast and simple way to digitize that work without starting from scratch.

“Creating and managing forms has traditionally been a manual, time-intensive process for teams in the field, but data capture is critical when you’re managing hundreds of inspections, audits, service records, or safety checks,” said Jeff Stay, Vice President of Product Management, Mobile at Quickbase. “For more than 25 years, Quickbase has focused on putting the power to improve operations into the hands of the people doing the work. We designed AI Form Builder to be an accelerator, an intelligent assistant, and a subject matter expert by your side, so – instead of spending hours building forms – teams can focus on collecting the data that keeps field operations moving.”

AI Form Builder is designed for teams that need to inspect assets, check sites, document repairs, collect signatures, attach photos, and submit reliable data without slowing down field work. By removing the technical complexity of traditional drag-and-drop tools, the builder helps organizations digitize operational workflows with less training and fewer manual steps. The new form builder offers three core capabilities designed to accelerate form creation and improve field data capture:

  • Builds forms with voice or text. Users describe what they need, and AI Form Builder generates a working form with the required fields, rules, and calculations.

  • Digitizes paper forms and PDFs. Existing PDFs or photos of paper forms can be uploaded and converted into editable digital versions without rebuilding from scratch.

  • Works in the field: Users can open any existing form on a phone or tablet and describe the changes they want to make. The assistant quickly adds fields, updates logic, and restructures sections based on their direction. Users can then review, undo, or discard changes before publishing.

“We had a $5 million contract base across maintenance. Depending on the job, that could be anywhere from two pieces of equipment to 2,000 pieces of equipment that [our team] was having to input all the data for,” said Missy Boyce, Director of Service Operations at Comfort Systems USA. “With FastField, now we have something that gives us a bit more stability, gives technicians a better experience, and gives clients more confidence.”

AI Form Builder is now available on all FastField plans. To start building a form, please visit: https://www.quickbase.com/fastfield/ai-form-builder.
